Goodbye My Old Friend

Flossie and me

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this post. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to gorgeous Flossie yesterday.
So many of our friends and neighbours in the village, knew her. She was a local legend.
At 13 years and 8 months, she still loved getting out (with me or without me!) to see her friends and to explore their gardens (sorry folks!) Her escapades in our neighbour’s pond are legendary as are the many times she scaled a 6 foot fence in her younger days, just because she could or got stuck in a hedge…(all of which she wrote about on my blog).
This last week, she refused to go for a walk and we knew it was time.

Her madcap adventures and mischief finally came to an end when illness got the better of her. Charlie is a little subdued but adjusting to his role as top dog.

I thought I heard her rasping bark the day after we said goodbye and as I scrolled through all those photos of her on my phone, I glanced up and saw the most magnificent rainbow ending right outside the house.

Over the rainbow you go Flossie and run free!

You will always hold a special place in my heart.
